The Supreme Court RULES!
Critical Portions of DOMA are knocked down!
If your state has Marriage Equality, you will get the same benefits given to any other marriage!
Proposition 8 Returns to California
The Supreme Court did not rule on Prop8 and returned the case because of a question on the standing of the Proposition 8 proponents to appeal. This will likely mean a victory for Marriage Equality!

It passed by a 26-12 Victory! That means we are almost there! It just needs to be approved by the House since the Senate Bill was slightly different than the House bill, then it goes to Governor Chafee (a huge supporter of Marriage Equality) for his signature! History
Wednesday May 2nd - House had a hearing on Marriage Equality.
Equal Religious Protection Act sponsored by Frank Ferri which was tabled for another later hearing. Follow at https://twitter.com/#!/search/%23RI4M
Speaker of the House Gordon Fox, has moved his support for a full civil marriage bill HB 5012 to the Civil Unions bill which is not in agreement with
our philosophy and law which states Separate is not Truly Equal.
An amendment to the bill is currently going through the General Assembly which will in essence change the Civil Unions bill into the Full Civil Marriage Bill. We hope the best and encourage you to contact your Representative and Senator and tell them: I am a constituent in your area and I support full Civil Marriage for
couples regardless of sex, gender, and orientation."
Unfortunately, the amendment was put down and thus, Marriage Equality has not passed the Legislature of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
However, the fight is still on and we will do what it takes to make our state one that upholds the essence of equality.
